Not many collectors know this, but the reverse of the American Silver Eagle was actually refined and updated in between the years 2007 and 2008. This transition has even led to the U.S. Mint minting some coins with the wrong reverse. The details on the 2008 Silver Eagle are a bit more sharp. However, the two most noticeable changes are the "U" in "United States" and the dash in between the words "silver" and "one." Any American Silver Eagle struck with this reverse design from 2008 and on is considered to have the "enhanced" reverse. This two coin set includes a 2007 Silver Eagle with the original reverse and the 2008 Silver Eagle with the all-new enhanced reverse. Both coins are certified by NGC in MS69 condition. Collectors love to hold these side by side and compare the differences on the reverses of the coins!
