2018 Burnished Silver Eagle

In 2018, 131,935 Burnished silver eagle coins were minted at the West Point mint. This coin has a ‘w’ mintmark on its reverse to indicate where it was struck.

The American Silver Eagle Program was started in 1986 to improve America's bullion offering. The series has become very popular with coin collectors, dealers, and silver investors worldwide. The burnished silver eagles were created in 2006 and minted in lower numbers then the Proof and uncirculated coins. Burnished coins are only issued to collectors.

This 2018-W Burnished Silver Eagle is individually packaged in a plastic casing for safekeeping and is entirely free of flaws.

Silver Eagle Coins Design

The silver eagle coins have an iconic design created by Weinman and Mercanti. The obverse features Adolph Weinman's classic work of art, which was used on the half dollar coin between 1916 and 1947 and is known as the Walking Liberty. The design represents a brighter future and has an image of the sun shining, and Lady Liberty draped in an American flag, carrying a bundle of oak branches. The mintage date is at the bottom of the coin, and the word ‘LIBERTY’ curves across the top of the coin. ‘In God, We Trust’ is on the right-hand side.

The reverse of the silver eagle features an eagle and shield, designed by John Mercanti. The design represents peace, freedom, and independence. Above the eagles head, you’ll see a triangle of thirteen stars representing America's founding states.

Silver Eagle Prices

The 2018-W Burnished Silver Eagle is worth approximately $130; this coin is rare and collectible and will make a great addition to your coin collection. Burnished Silver Eagle coins were first minted in 2006 to mark the 20th anniversary of the silver eagle program. These coins are worth between $100 and $300, depending on the year they were minted.
