1880 Morgan Silver Dollar at Bulion Shark

Truly a masterpiece and arguably the best of seven designs, this coin was minted as of 1878 until production was temporarily halted in 1904, only to be continued for one more year in 1921. Miss Liberty is featured on the obverse (front) of the coin with 13 stars (represents the 13 colonies) all around her face, and an American Bald Eagle on the reverse (back) of the coin (gripping an olive branch and arrows in its talons). It comes as no surprise that Morgan Silver Dollars, including this one, are known to hold numismatic value due to the sheer beauty of the coins and scarcity. Philadelphia Minted Morgan Silver Dollars often have higher mintages, and are thus more affordable to collect compared to Morgan Silver Dollars that were struck at other mints.

The 1880-P Morgan Silver Dollar was specifically struck at the Philadelphia mint, whereas the other four locations where Morgan Silver Dollars have been minted are: San Francisco, New Orleans, Denver, and Carson City. The Philadelphia Mint is known to usually produce the highest quantity of Morgan Silver Dollars, and for that reason, they are a bit more common and thus less expensive. With a face value equivalent to $1 USD, this coin has more than 3/4th an ounce of pure silver in it and is composed of 10% copper, 90% silver. 12,600,000 were minted albeit not nearly as many are left because many were melted down in order to produce other Morgan Silver Dollars during the shortage of silver. The Morgan Dollar has a diameter of 38.1mm and weight of 26.73 grams. The 1880-P Morgan Silver Dollar is the third year of issue in the Morgan Silver Dollar series.

This 1880-P Morgan Silver Dollar is guaranteed by Bullion Shark to be a true brilliant uncirculated coin. One of many beautiful Morgan Silver Dollar coins made at home in the United States of America 140 years ago. Before the Morgan Silver Dollar were the Seated Liberty Dollars and after were the Peace Silver Dollars.
