1881 Morgan Silver Dollar History
The 1881-P Morgan Silver Dollar was a result of what was arguably the best of 7 coins designed by George T. Morgan. He was a genius that chose to have the front (obverse) side of the coin be an image of Lady Liberty’s face with 13 stars surrounding her. He also chose for the back (reverse) side of the coin to be an American Bald Eagle that is clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Morgan Silver Dollars were minted from 1878 - 1904. Production ceased due to a shortage of silver that arose during World Wars I and II. After having purchased and melted more silver, the government was able to again produce Morgan Silver Dollars for one last time, in 1921, including a never before Denver Minted Morgan Silver Dollar. The beauty of these coins and the silver content makes it a perfect coin for investors and collectors alike. Whether you speculate on the future investment value of a highly liquid item, or want a collection that is a part of United States history, Morgan Silver Dollars are your go to coins. At Bullion Shark, we take the utmost pride and care in our coins, so we are willing to go so far as to guarantee that this 1881-P Morgan Silver Dollar is in stunning brilliant uncirculated condition.
