While the 1880 Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar was struck at the Carson City Mint in Nevada, other Morgan Silver Dollars were minted at Philadelphia, New Orleans, Denver, and San Francisco. Although only 591,000 were originally minted, only a fraction are still available as most were melted down in order to produce more Morgan Silver Dollars at a later date.
