Believe it or not, the Indian Head Penny was called a "Nickel" or a "Nick" until 1866, when the true 5 cent Nickel was issued. Some Indian Head Cents were referred to as "white cents" due to their color variations from their metal composition. Indian Head Cents have much lower mintages than the Lincoln Penny, making them much more difficult to find in quantity! Finding pieces that have full dates and are not corroded is not easy, so take advantage of these nice pieces while we have them. Each roll contains (50) circulated Indian Head Cents with a nice assortment of dates.

The reverse showcases a wreath encircling the denomination, to signify the strength of the Union and a call for peace during the time.
Design and Craftsmanship: The Indian Head Penny is renowned for its exquisite design and intricate details. The obverse of the coin depicts Liberty in a Native American headdress, a design that was both innovative and controversial at the time of its release. The reverse design evolved over the years, with the initial laurel wreath being replaced by an oak wreath with a shield on top in 1860, reflecting the country's growing strength.
