As the United States of America was slowly coming together as a nation and later international superpower, our coinage went through similar changes throughout the years. The 19th century saw a few different designs, as well as some experimentation in composition and denominations. One of the most popular designs from that period was the Seated Liberty. Featured on a few different denominations, this was the only design in US history at the time to feature a full-length portrait of Lady Liberty. After this design was discontinued at the end of the 19th century, the tradition of close-up portraits on coins returned. We assembled this set of a Seated Liberty Dime and Seated Liberty Half Dime so you can hold two examples of this incredible historical design! This set is also a real treat since you can compare the dime to the now obsolete half dime coin! The half dime was discontinued for a 5 cent coin (the nickel) type in order to conserve silver.
Both the Seated Liberty Dime and Half Dime in this set are in circulated condition, and boast 90% silver content. You will receive (1) random date Seated Liberty Dime and (1) random date Seated Liberty Half Dime. These stunning coins are affordable pieces of numismatic history, so don't miss out!
