Collect a wearable piece of your coin collection with this new unique gift! Introducing Buffalo Nickel Belt Buckle with Random Year Buffalo Nickel, a stylish accessory featuring an iconic piece of numismatic history. The Buffalo Nickel, minted from 1913 to 1938, serves as a powerful symbol of the American West. This belt buckle incorporates an authentic Buffalo Nickel, showcasing the coin's reverse (buffalo) side. The nickel is set within a framework of Western and Native American-inspired designs, including rope detailing, feather motifs, and a ring of simulated turquoise. Compatible with standard belt sizes, this buckle is the perfect way to incorporate your coin collecting hobby into your daily wardrobe!
Designed by the famed sculptor James Earle Fraser, the Buffalo Nickel is considered a quintessential representation of the Wild West. The coin's obverse features a composite portrait of three prominent Native American figures: Iron Tail (a Sioux leader and participant in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show), Two Moons (a Cheyenne chief), and John Big Tree (a Seneca actor). Notably, all three individuals were alive during the coin's initial minting. The reverse depicts Black Diamond, a buffalo residing in the New York Zoological Gardens. This image was chosen to symbolize the West, even though the buffalo was facing near extinction at the time of the coin's release. Black Diamond himself was also alive when the first Buffalo Nickels were struck.
Due to extensive circulation wear, intentional destruction by the U.S. government following the introduction of the Jefferson Nickel in 1938, and general attrition, surviving Buffalo Nickels are now relatively scarce, making them desirable collectibles. Exude confidence and numismatic excellence with this incredible Buffalo Nickel Belt Buckle today!
