The Kennedy Half Dollar was first produced in 1964 to commemorate the assassinated President John F. Kennedy. 1964 was the first and only year that the coin was struck with 90% silver! For over 50 years, the Kennedy Half Dollar has been the only half dollar coin in American currency, circulating or in sets. The obverse features a portrait of the late President approved by Jackie Kennedy, and the reverse shows the Presidential coat of arms.

While the silver content of the Kennedy Half Dollar quickly dwindled until it was simply clad in the 1970s and on, it only stopped being an actively circulating coin in 2001. Since then, Kennedy Half Dollars have only been made for collectors in very limited quantities in special sets or with special finishes and silver content. This duo of 2001 Kennedy Half Dollars is a brilliant set that brings together the final two issues of the circulating Kennedy Half Dollar. Struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, both coins in this set are in uncirculated condition, so you can perfectly see all their original details. Secure this 2001 P&D Kennedy Half Dollar duo of last year of issue coins for your collection today!
