1993 American Silver Eagle

1993 American Silver Eagle

The 1993 American Silver Eagle had a total mintage of over 6.7 million coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The mintage for this issue was higher than the previous year, and is relatively easy to find in most grades. Only in the highest grade is it more difficult to find, and will command a premium price because of that scarcity. Many of the coins can be found with nicks and other blemishes from storage and handling, so collectors are advised not to be too picky when it comes to the 1993 American Silver Eagle.

History of the 1993 American Silver Eagle

The 1993 American Silver Eagle is worthwhile to find with a sharp strike and attractive details. Cherrypicking is advised. The design on the reverse of the American Silver Eagle was inspired by the “Walking Liberty” design of the Walking Liberty Half Dollar that was designed by Adolph Weinman. It was one of the most beloved designs of all American coins and was revived for the American Silver Eagle coins. The reverse was designed by John Mercanti. It features the American Bald Eagle behind a shield. The eagle is holding arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Above the eagle are 13 five-pointed stars that represent the 13 original colonies.

1993 American Silver Eagle Value

The 1993 American Silver Eagle price can reach upwards of $7,600 for some of the highest graded coins available on the market, although it will cost much less in lower grades. The 1993 American Silver Eagle will make an excellent addition to any Silver Eagle series collection.
