1911-D Barber Dime
The 1911-D Barber Dime had a total mintage of just over 11.2 million coins struck at the Denver Mint. This coin features the ‘D’ mint mark found on the bottom of the reverse of the coin. This was a large mintage for the Denver Mint, more than tripling the amount of the previous year. The reason for the increase in production is unknown, but is believed it was to send more Barber Dimes out into circulation in the western states. With this larger mintage, the 1911-D Barber Dime is a plentiful coin with many examples to choose from in both circulated and Mint State grades.
