1910-S Barber Dime

1910-S Barber Dime

The 1910-S Barber Dime had a total mintage of just over 1.2 million coins struck at the San Francisco Mint. This was a smaller mintage for the series as a whole, but an average-sized mintage for the San Francisco Mint issue dates. This coin is the second rarest of the mint marked coins that were issued in 1910, following behind the 1910-D Barber Dime. This is a beautiful coin that can be found in circulated and Mint State grades, with more Mint State examples available than the Denver minted Barber Dime of this year, even though the 1910-D Barber Dime had a larger mintage.

History of the 1910-S Barber Dime

The 1910-S Barber Dime is a beautiful coin that typically has a brilliant to frosty luster, and some coins with a Prooflike strike. This coin features the popular ‘S’ mint mark on the bottom of the reverse of the coin. Charles Barber designed the Barber Quarter and the Barber Half Dollar. The design on this coin features a right facing profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse wearing an olive branch crown with a ribbon, and a headband with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. The reverse of the coin features a wreath of corn, oak and maple leaves, and wheat, and frames the word One Dime.

1910-S Barber Dime Value

The 1910-S Barber Dime value reaches upwards of $21,000 for some of the highest grades available on the market. This coin typically caps out around the MS67 grade, with these coins having incredible toning and great overall eye appeal. The 1910-S Barber Dime would make a valuable addition to any Barber Dime series collection.
