1906-O Barber Dime
The 1906-O Barber Dime had a total mintage of just over 2.6 million coins from the New Orleans Mint. It features the ‘O’ mint mark on the bottom of the reverse of the coin. Out of all four coins issued in 1906, the 1906-O had the smallest mintage. While it has the smallest mintage, in Mint State, it is the most affordable of this year as well, as many Mint State examples have survived and can meet the demand for the coin.
History of the 1906-O Barber Dime
The 1906-O Barber Dime is typically a well-struck coin that is worth the effort to find. Some of the coins show roller marks, but this doesn’t hurt the grading and value of the coin too much. Charles Barber also designed the Barber Quarter and the Barber Half Dollar. The design on this coin features a right facing profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse wearing an olive branch crown with a ribbon, and a headband with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. The reverse of the coin features a wreath of corn, oak and maple leaves, and wheat, and frames the word One Dime.
1906-O Barber Dime Value
The 1906-O Barber Dime value reaches upwards of $14,000 for some of the highest grades of this coin available. It can be found in Mint State upwards of MS67. This is a valuable coin that would make a great addition to any Barber Dime series collection. Collectors could add value to their collection by locating each of the four coins created this year.
