2023 Isle of Man One Noble Longboat 2oz Silver Piedfort - PR70DCAM FDI
The modern Noble coins have been issued by Isle of Man since the early 80’s. Despite their world-wide popularity, they were not minted every year. This had added to the coins allure as previous issues can be difficult to find. The 2022 design is the first enhancement to the actual design since it was introduced back in 1983. Nobles are legal tender but they do not have a fixed face value; instead, like the Krugerrand or Mexico’s Libertad, they are legal tender to the value of their precious metal content.
The obverse features a portrait of King Charles III bordered by the inscriptions "KING CHARLES III," "ISLE OF MAN," and the year date "2023".
The reverse features a more detailed Viking long boat framed by an elaborate Viking motif border design. Also included are the inscriptions "Ag .999 2 ounces," and "ONE NOBLE"
