The 2012-P $1 Grover Cleveland (24th Presidency) Presidential Dollar is a unique and collectible coin issued by the U.S. Mint, part of the Presidential Dollar Coin Program. This coin holds a special place in the series as it commemorates the second non-consecutive term of Grover Cleveland as the 24th President of the United States. DESIGNER: Don Everhart EDGE: Lettered DIAMETER: 26.50 millimeters WEIGHT: 8.10 grams MINTAGE: 10,680,000 MINT: Philadelphia METAL: 77% Copper, 12% Zinc, 1% other over a pure Copper core *Mixed positions. On Presidential Dollars, the edge lettering of the coins can either face up or down. Position A indicates the coins edge can be read correctly, only when the coins obverse is facing down or if the reverse side is facing up. Minted at the Philadelphia Mint, as indicated by the 'P' mint mark, the coin features a detailed portrait of Grover Cleveland on the obverse. This depiction captures Cleveland's distinct facial features and late 19th-century style, reflecting the period of his second presidency. Above the portrait, the inscription "Grover Cleveland" clearly identifies the subject of the coin. Below the image, the inscriptions "24th President" and the years of his second term, "1893-1897," are elegantly displayed. The reverse side of the coin showcases the classic design of the Statue of Liberty, which is consistent across the Presidential Dollar series. Below Liberty’s right arm, the denomination "$1" is prominently shown, indicating the coin's face value. Surrounding this design, the words "United States of America" are encircled, adding a patriotic and unifying theme.
