Despite being minted nearly 40 years ago, NGC has certified this 1986 Silver Eagle with the Early Production pedigree, decades after it was minted! This designation is given to coins received by NGC in mint-sealed packaging that is dated on or before January 31 of the coin’s year of issue. This label also applies to backdated coins, as long as they were sealed in the official US Mint packaging with paperwork. It's incredible how boxes of these original coins have still remained untouched, but now they are true rarities!
This special Silver Eagle was struck in San Francisco, not West Point like usual, and has been certified by NGC to be in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition!
