Product Description
These super low mintage Proof 1971-S Eisenhower Dollars were the first year of issue of the FIRST series of silver dollar coins minted since the Peace Dollar! A tiny 5% of the entire Eisenhower series was ever minted in 40% silver. These coins were originally in the Brown Ike sets, so it is rare for them to look this nice, due to the wear and tear of being processed and packaged. This Eisenhower Dollar in particular has a fascinating error dubbed the "Peg Leg" variety. The "R" in "LIBERTY" is missing the bottom serifs, making it look short and stubbed, thus the comparison to a peg leg. This error is especially desirable due to how obvious it is to the naked eye, so it always commands a premium. Add this fun error silver dollar to your collection today!
