1934-D Washington Quarter
The 1934-D Washington Quarter had just over 3.5 total mintage from the Denver Mint. The 1934-D is a Washington Quarter key date even though it isn’t rare in circulated grades. The coin is rare and difficult to find in Mint State and Gem grades, and comes in behind the two most rare of the Washington Quarter series, the 1932-D and 1932-S Washington Quarters. The Washington Quarter features a portrait of George Washington on the obverse of the coin, and the American Bald Eagle with its wings spread while standing on a bundle of arrows and an olive branch.
History of the 1934-D Washington Quarter
The 1934-D Washington Quarter is a well-struck coin that is usually attractive and frosty in Mint State. The Washington Quarter was designed by John Flanagan to commemorate the 200th anniversary of First President George Washington’s birthday. It believed that there weren't as many uncirculated 1934-D Silver Washington Quarter coins available because many went out into circulation during the Great Depression when these coins were minted.
1934-D Washington Quarter Value
The 1934-D Washington Quarter value ranges to upwards of the low tens of thousands for a Mint State uncirculated coin. Although it is a Washington Quarter key date, it is still relatively affordable compared to the 1932-D Washington Quarter in Mint State. The 1934-D Washington Quarter would make a valuable and attractive addition to any Washington Quarter series collection, and is usually well-struck and frosty in Mint State coins.
