In modern times, all American paper currency is Federal Reserve Notes with green Treasure seals. However, in the decades past, there were a few more kinds of currency with different colored seals and looks! This collection features three distinct types of currency, each with a unique colored Treasury seal and serial numbers.
This unique trio of notes includes a rare $2 United States Note with a red seal, which was issued until the Series of 1963 and features Thomas Jefferson on the front and his Monticello home on the back. Next, this set features a $1 Silver Certificate Bank Note with a blue seal, which was last printed in the Series of 1957 and was backed by $1 in silver bullion in the U.S. Treasury, until the United States discontinued the Gold Standard, unlinking the U.S. Dollar from the price of gold & silver. Finally, the collection is completed with a rarely-seen $2 Federal Reserve Note with a green seal and serial numbers, which features Thomas Jefferson on the front and the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back.
Each bill in this collection is in collector's quality circulated condition, and are presented in a custom album featuring facts about each type of note. This trio of notes are a fascinating overview of different periods in American numismatic history, and are perfect for any collection.
