Own a fascinating piece of American World War II history with this complete United States Wartime Silver Nickel Set, featuring all 11 wartime Jefferson nickels minted from 1942 through 1945. These special “War Nickels” contain 35% silver, making them the only circulating U.S. nickels ever struck with silver.
This attractive set includes all wartime mint issues and comes housed in a display case with historical information, perfect for collectors, history enthusiasts, or as a meaningful gift.

Historical Significance
In October 1942, the U.S. Mint replaced the traditional nickel composition with an alloy of 56% copper, 35% silver, and 9% manganese to conserve nickel for the war effort. These coins are easily identified by the large mintmark above Monticello on the reverse, a unique feature not used on other Jefferson nickels.
