These 50 Sen silver coins were struck in Japan from 1922 to 1938 – the modern Imperial period when the Japanese Empire was ruled by Emperor Yoshihito and his son, Emperor Hirohito. It was Hirohito that led Japan during World War II.

The cherry blossoms on the obverse symbolize innocence, simplicity and rebirth. The reverse features a pair of Phoenix that are meant to symbolize a period of peace and prosperity, and the transition to a new Emperor. Each 50 Sen was struck in 4.95 grams of 72% silver and comes beautifully displayed in a black presentation case with a detailed storycard detailing the symbology of the coin. One of the most beautifully designed coins ever in circulation, this 50 Sen coin belongs in your collection!
