The $10 Liberty Gold Coin was minted from 1838-1907, it has a face value of $10 and is composed of 90% gold and 10% copper. This coin was designed by Christian Gobrecht. Its obverse design consisted of a left-facing head of liberty wearing a headband that reads “Liberty” and the reverse of the coin had an eagle spreading its wings with a shield on its chest.

Some of the rarest coins in the series are the 1838 $10 Liberty Head Gold Coin, which is the first year of mintage, 1841-O, 1858, 1860-S, and the 1865-S. One of the rarest editions of this coin is the 1875 version, it can cost over $200,000 depending on its condition.
