America’s Classic Coins Collection

Indian Head Penny • Liberty “V” Nickel • Buffalo Nickel

Step back into America’s past with a remarkable collection of three iconic coins that capture the spirit of the nation’s early days. Collectors are always searching for classic coins that evoke the nostalgia of bygone eras, and this special set brings together three of the most famous and hard-to-find pieces in American numismatic history: the Indian Head Penny, Liberty “V” Nickel, and Buffalo Nickel.

These historic coins disappeared from circulation generations ago, making them increasingly scarce and highly desirable among collectors. Beyond their beauty and timeless designs, each coin reflects America’s westward expansion and the nation’s enduring fascination with the Wild West and the frontier spirit.

Indian Head Penny (1859–1909)

First minted in 1859, the Indian Head Penny quickly became one of the most recognizable coins in American history. The design features a portrait of an “Indian princess” wearing a war bonnet—one of the earliest U.S. coin designs to depict a Native American theme. According to legend, the designer James B. Longacre used his own daughter, Sarah, as the model for the portrait. With the final coins minted in 1909, every Indian Head Penny today is more than 100 years old, making it a treasured artifact of American coinage.

Liberty “V” Nickel (1883–1913)

The Liberty Head Nickel, commonly known as the “V” Nickel, gets its nickname from the Roman numeral “V” (five) featured prominently on the reverse. Introduced in 1883, it quickly became one of the most popular coins of the late 19th century. Early versions did not include the word CENTS, which led to a fascinating chapter in coin history—some con-men gold-plated the coins and attempted to pass them off as $5 gold pieces. With annual mintages only about 2% of today’s modern nickel production, surviving examples are especially prized by collectors.

Buffalo Nickel (1913–1938)

Struck between 1913 and 1938, the Buffalo Nickel celebrates the fading frontier of the American West. Designed by renowned sculptor James Earle Fraser, the obverse features a powerful composite portrait based on three Native American chiefs: Iron Tail, Two Moons, and John Big Tree. The reverse showcases the majestic American buffalo, symbolizing the untamed landscapes of the frontier. This coin remains one of the most beloved and artistically admired designs ever produced by the U.S. Mint.

A Rare Opportunity for Collectors

These coins have not circulated for 80 to more than 100 years, and most surviving examples are already safely held in private collections. Finding them individually can take years of searching.

Each coin in this collection has been carefully hand-selected for exceptional collector quality and is beautifully displayed in a custom presentation with a Certificate of Authenticity, making it a perfect addition to any coin collection or a memorable gift for history enthusiasts.

Own a genuine piece of American history and celebrate the legendary coins that defined the nation’s classic era of coinage.
