All of the statehood quarters are composed of a pure copper core and 2 layers cupronickel, an alloy of 75% copper and 25% nickel. The cupronickel layers make up one-third of the coin's total weight, giving the quarter an overall composition of 8.33% nickel and 91.67% copper.
