The United States Mint produced a limited number of 40% Silver Eisenhower Dollars during its run. This 1974 Eisenhower Dollar was the last year of release! These Proof Finish versions are known as "Brown Ikes", compared to the regular issues known as "Blue Ikes" due to their blue envelope packaging. The Proof "Brown Ike" Eisenhower Dollars got their name from its faux wood patterned government outer packaging.
