1954-D Washington Quarter

1954-D Washington Quarter

The 1954-D Washington Quarter had a higher mintage from the Denver Mint with over 43 million coins produced. This coin is possible to find in Mint State and some of the higher grades as well, but it is definitely more rare than the 1954 Washington Quarter, especially in higher grades. The 1954-D Washington Quarter will bring value to the Washington Quarter series collection with an affordable and accessible coin, and just requires some careful consideration to find a lustrous, frosty one that isn’t marked u4.

History of the 1953-D Washington Quarter

The 1954-D Washington Quarter is valuable because of the Denver Mint mark. Although the Denver Minted coins of this era are known for surface roughness and marks, it is possible to find an attractive coin in higher grades with some careful looking. The Washington Quarter was designed by John Flanagan to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s day of birth. His portrait can be found on the obverse of the coin, while the American Bald Eagle clutching a bundle of arrows, flying over an olive branch, can be found on the reverse. This Washington Quarter can be located in uncirculated, Mint State condition, and it is worthwhile to find one.

1954-D Washington Quarter Value

The 1954-D Washington Quarter value ranges to upwards of nine thousand dollars for the highest Mint State grades. When searching for the 1954-D Washington Quarter to add to your collection, look for one with a nice frosty luster and beautiful surfaces. Mint State coins can be a little more difficult to find with this coin, but it is well worth the effort. The 1954-D Washington Quarter is possible to find in Gem condition and would make a great addition to any Washington Quarter series collection.
