1944-S Mercury Dime
The 1944-S Mercury Dime had a total mintage of over 49 million coins struck at the San Francisco Mint. This was a plentiful coin and a higher mintage compared to early mintages of the Mercury Dime at the San Francisco Mint. It features the ‘S’ mint mark on the reverse of the coin, which is usually more sought after and a little more expensive within most coin series. The 1944-S Mercury Dime can be found in most Mint State grades, all the way up to MS68 and Full Band versions. Even though this coin typically commands higher price, it only requires a small premium for this plentiful coin.
