History of the 1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter
The 1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter is a beautiful coin that would make a great addition to any Standing Liberty Quarter series collection. The Standing Liberty Quarter was designed by Herman MacNeil. The obverse of the coin features Lady Liberty holding a shield in one hand and an olive branch in the other while wearing chain mail armor on her body. She stands in some form of gateway that features 13 stars and the words ``In God We Trust” dividing the walls. The reverse of the coin features an American Bald Eagle in flight with 13 stars surrounding it.
1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter Value
The 1930-S Standing Liberty Quarter value ranges from around $12,000 to upwards of $22,000 for the highest Mint State and Full Version grades available. Although these are higher prices compared to some series like the Wheat Penny, these are relatively affordable compared to many of the Mint State coins in the Standing Liberty Quarter series. The Standing Liberty Quarter series is a popular one among collectors due to the lower mintages, the attractive designs, and the controversial history of the designs with the “naked” Lady Liberty in the first two years.
