1910-D Barber Dime
The 1910-D Barber Dime had a total mintage of just over 3.4 million coins struck at the Denver Mint. This coin features the ‘D’ mint mark found on the bottom of the reverse of the coin. This is a fairly common coin in circulated grades, and usually commands a small premium in Mint State. The majority of the Mint State coins are MS63 and MS64, and beyond MS66 the coins become a rarity that commands an even higher premium.
History of the 1910-D Barber Dime
The 1910-D Barber Dime is a valuable coin that can be found at more affordable prices than the 1910-S Barber Dime, even though both are on equal footing as far as the number of coins available in Mint State and the rarity of them. Charles Barber designed the Barber Quarter and the Barber Half Dollar. The design on this coin features a right facing profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse wearing an olive branch crown with a ribbon, and a headband with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. The reverse of the coin features a wreath of corn, oak and maple leaves, and wheat, and frames the word One Dime.
1910-D Barber Dime Value
The 1910-D Barber Dime value reaches upwards of $16,000 for some of the highest grades of the coin available. It’s possible to find this coin in a more accessible price range in circulated and lower Mint State grades. It’s well worth the effort to cherrypick through these coins to find a well-struck coin with nice coloring and details. The 1910-D Barber Dime would make a great addition to any Barber Dime series collection.
