History of the 1905-S Barber Dime

The 1905-S Barber Dime is possibly the most common in the MS64 grade, but is possible to find in higher and lower grades. The strike is typically strong and is worth the effort to find. Charles Barber also designed the Barber Quarter and the Barber Half Dollar. The design on this coin features a right facing profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse wearing an olive branch crown with a ribbon, and a headband with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. The reverse of the coin features a wreath of corn, oak and maple leaves, and wheat, and frames the word One Dime.

1905-S Barber Dime Value

The 1905-S Barber Dime value reaches upwards of around $8,000 for some of the highest grades of the coin available. It’s possible to build a more affordable Barber Dime collection by looking for circulated and lower Mint State coins. The 1905-S Barber Dime is a semi-scarce date that would make a valuable addition to any Barber Dime series collection.
