History of the 1895-O Morgan Silver Dollar

The 1895-O Morgan Silver Dollar was produced at the New Orleans Mint, which was known for its less than stellar craftsmanship. Many of the 1895-O Morgan Silver Dollars were placed in storage and also melted down. This is one of the rarer coins to come out of the New Orleans Mint and it is known for a poor strike and overall unattractive luster and surface.
