In 1916, the U.S. Mint held a contest for the design of the proposed Peace Dollar to celebrate the end of World War I. While Anthony de Francisci ultimately earned the honor, Adolph Weinman also submitted a design that was truly stunning yet lost to history-until now! Through a collaboration with the Commonwealth Mint and the Smithsonian, Weinman's Peace Dollar design has been remastered in a medal struck from 5oz of 99.9% fine silver. Only 499 of these precious medals were made.

Its design showcases a captivating capped portrait of Lady Liberty, evoking his Mercury Dime design. The reverse reveal a powerful American Eagle, shielding Liberty, who holds a small hand plow—a symbolic representation of disarmament drawn from the biblical passage, Isaiah 2:4, "swords into plowshares."

Weinman’s original sketches were long lost, but recent discoveries of their photographs allowed for a breathtaking recreation of his vision. To bring this historical artwork to life, the Commonwealth Mint enlisted master engraver Jody Clark, renowned for creating the last definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. These designs were struck with an extraordinary Ultra High Relief on both sides. These medals also boast a "Roman" finish. This experimental finish, used by the U.S. Mint in the early 20th century, creates a unique hybrid luster between standard proof and matte proof surfaces, often described as “polished frosted.”

With a perfect SP70 grade from NGC, this piece also features an Adolph Weinman portrait label, it has been personally hand-signed by master engraver Jody Clark himself! One of the coin world's most brilliant rising stars, Clark achieved instant fame at just 33 when he created the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II during his tenure at the Royal Mint. Only 35 exist in perfect grade with Clark's signature, so this is a true masterpiece rarity.

Don't miss your chance to own this extraordinary commemorative, a true blend of historical significance, artistic brilliance, and numismatic perfection! We have just 18 of these remarkable medals available, so be one of the few to collect this rarity today!
