For the first time in 70 years, a new monarch was crowned in Great Britain! King Charles III’s coronation on May 6th, 2023 at Westminster Abbey crowned him the new monarch after Queen Elizabeth II's passing last year. To celebrate, The Royal Mint created special bullion coins struck in 1oz of .999 fine silver to honor the new king. The two coins in this set depict His Majesty's Royal Cypher and the FIRST crowned effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, alongside the traditional interpretation of Britannia!
The new royal portrait shows a side profile bust of a crowned King Charles III surrounded by “King Charles III By the grace of God, Defender of the Faith.” The other new design depicts His Majesty The King’s royal cypher, a monogram that consists of Charles III’s interlocking initials and with a crown above. This cypher will soon be well-known throughout the United Kingdom! Only 150,0000 of the cypher coins were struck, and only 200,000 of the coronation Britannia's were minted. Even less have been certified in a near perfect MS69 by NGC and holdered together in a double slab! These limited-edition silver coins celebrating the Royal Coronation of King Charles III are an incredible addition to your collection.
