2016 not only marked the 30th Anniversary of the ever popular American Silver Eagle, but it was the only time a Silver Eagle had a "lettered" edge as opposed to a reeded edge that the typical Silver Eagle has. This means the edge of the coin is flat and has the words "30th Anniversary" inscribed in it. Each coin is also hand signed by John Mercanti, the designer of the coin and 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint. This coin has one of the most intriguing stories of any Silver Eagle, and the hand signature its designer just adds to the coins rarity and collectibility! Each piece has also been certified by NGC in perfect grade PF70 Ultra Cameo!
