This is a regular strike, uncirculated coin that is sold to Mint Authorized Purchasers rather than directly to the public.

History of the 2016 1 oz Gold Buffalo Coin

The 2016 1 oz Gold Buffalo coin is worth the effort to cherrypick for one that is well-struck with attractive surfaces. As was common with uncirculated coins from the Philadelphia Mint, it did not have a mint mark. The obverse of the coin features an image of a Native American Chief that was composed from the sketch of three different chiefs at the time. James Earle Fraser created the beloved design for this coin which was a modification of the Indian Head Nickel (Type 1). The reverse features a fully grown bison standing on a mound.

2016 $50 Buffalo Gold Coin Value

The 2016 $50 Gold Buffalo coin value reaches upwards of around $2,500 for the highest Mint State grades of the coin.
