History of the 1 oz Gold Buffalo Coin
This is the ninth year that the Gold Buffalo was struck. The 2015 1 oz Gold Buffalo is worth the effort to find well-struck with attractive surfaces. This is one of the most beloved designs out of any coin series and is an adaptation of the Type 1 Indian Head Nickel. The Gold Buffalo was also designed by James Earle Fraser. The obverse features a Native American Chief while the reverse depicts a fully grown bison standing on a mound. As was common with regular strike, uncirculated coins out of the Philadelphia Mint, this one didn’t have a mint mark.
