2014 $50 Gold Buffalo Coin

The Philadelphia Mint was known for its quality craftsmanship, and these Gold Buffalo coins benefitted from that skill.

History of the 1 oz Gold Buffalo Coin

The 1 oz American Gold Buffalo coin was designed by James Earle Fraser. He was responsible for the beloved design of the Type 1 Indian Head Nickel that inspired this rendition of the sketch. The obverse of the coin doesn’t feature a mint mark like the Proof coins, as it is a regular strike, uncirculated coin from the Philadelphia Mint, but it does feature a profile of a Native American Chief. The reverse of the coin shows a modified version of the Type 1 Indian Head Nickel and has a bison standing on a mound. This is a great coin for those looking to start collecting within this series, as it is more affordable than some of the others.

2014 $50 Buffalo Gold Coin Value
