Notably, these coins were not intended for general circulation and were exclusively offered to collectors by the U.S. Mint, available for purchase in rolls or bags from the Philadelphia or Denver Mint. On Presidential Dollars, the edge lettering of the coins can either face up or down. Position A indicates the coins edge can be read correctly, only when the coins obverse is facing down or if the reverse side is facing up.
