2006 was a historic year for the US Mint, as the 2006 Gold Buffalo was the first year that coins were minted in 24 karat gold! These incredibly popular gold bullion coins are history incarnate, as the American Buffalo Gold Coin's obverse and reverse designs feature coinage-famous images by noted American sculptor James Earle Fraser, a student of the great Augustus Saint-Gaudens of the Gold Eagle fame.

The bison on the coin's reverse was supposedly modeled after Black Diamond, a popular resident at the New York Zoological Gardens back in the day. This American Gold Buffalo coin has been given a perfect PF70 Ultra Cameo grade by NGC. The label has also been signed by Thomas Uram! Uram is President of the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists and a previous member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) Board of Governors, and his signature label is exclusive to Bullion Shark! NGC's Price Guide values this piece at $4,500, because less than 100 of these pieces exist - making it one of the lowest population American Gold Buffalo Coins ever!
