One S is struck over another S of a different style, which is the result of a misaligned die during the striking process. This 1970 Lincoln Cent has also been certified by NGC to be in MS65 RD condition with a special label signed by Bill Fivaz! He is an accomplished numismatist and the author of The Cherrypicker's Guide to Rare Die Varieties, and was named ANA's Numismatist of the Year in 2001. Only 35 exist signed by Bill Fivaz according to the NGC population report (as of 10/15/24).
