1935 Peace Dollar
The 1935 Peace Silver Dollar was released slowly, and over a long period of time, just like the 1934 Peace Dollar. Possibly due to this slow trickle, little attention was paid to this coin over the years. It can be harder to find the 1935 Peace dollar in circulated, higher grades, but not too difficult.
History of the 1935 Peace Dollar
The 1935 Peace dollar often has a satiny luster, rather than appearing deeply frosty like some of the other Peace dollars in the series. The Philadelphia Mint typically minted coins with a decent strike, and this one is no different. The 1935 Peace silver dollar usually has a good strike on the center and the reverse. This coin, along with the 1934 and 1935-S can have frosty fields, very minimal bag marks, and sometimes damage in the form of nicks to Miss Liberty’s face. The nicks could be the result of marks on the original planchet.
1935 Peace Dollar Value
The 1935 Peace silver dollar value comes in a range from the hundreds to ten thousands based on the quality and grade of the coin. The 1935 Peace dollar is easier to acquire than some of the other coins in the Peace dollar series.
