1929 Standing Liberty Quarter

History of the 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter

The 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter is a beautiful coin that can be found with a sharp strike, excellent details, and good eye-appeal overall. The Standing Liberty Quarter was designed by Herman MacNeil. The obverse of the coin features Lady Liberty holding a shield in one hand and an olive branch in the other while wearing chain mail armor on her body. She stands in some form of gateway that features 13 stars and the words “In God We Trust” dividing the walls. The reverse of the coin features an American Bald Eagle in flight with 13 stars surrounding it.

1929 Standing Liberty Quarter Value

The 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter value ranges from around $3,000 to upwards of $66,000 which is a wide range in cost depending on the quality, grade, and type of strike of the coin. Full Head versions typically command a higher price, especially in higher grades. The Standing Liberty Quarter series is a popular one among collectors due to the lower mintages, the attractive designs, and the controversial history of the designs with the “naked” Lady Liberty in the first two years. The 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter would make a great addition to any Standing Liberty Quarter series collection.
