This coin is possible to find in both circulated and uncirculated grades, and can even be found, with a bit of difficulty, in some of the highest Mint State grades. History of the 1926 Standing Liberty Quarter
The 1926 Standing Liberty Quarter is a beautiful coin. There are enough of them that it’s possible to cherrypick and find one with a sharp strike and attractive surfaces. The Standing Liberty Quarter was designed by Herman MacNeil. The obverse of the coin features Lady Liberty holding a shield in one hand and an olive branch in the other while wearing chain mail armor on her body. She stands in some form of gateway that features 13 stars and the words “In God We Trust” dividing the walls. The reverse of the coin features an American Bald Eagle in flight with 13 stars surrounding it.
