The 1926 Indian Head Gold Coin had a total mintage of 446,000 coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint was known for its excellent craftsmanship and many of these coins can be found well-struck with attractive surfaces. The 1926 Indian Head Quarter Eagle is one of the most common coins in the series and should be easy enough to find in Mint 64 and below. It can be a little more difficult to find in higher grades, but not impossible.

The highest grade of this coin are often some of the most visually appealing coins in the series. Bela Lyon Pratt designed the Quarter Eagle and Half Eagle, and many have a frosty and lustrous surface with a sharp strike. The obverse of the coin features a Native American in headdress and the reverse showcases the standing bald eagle on a bunch of arrows holding an olive branch.
