The 1919-D Standing Liberty Quarter had a total mintage of just under 2 million coins struck at the Denver Mint. This was a very small mintage for Denver, and this coin can command very premium prices when found with a full head strike. It’s possible to find the 1919-D Standing Liberty Quarter in circulated and uncirculated grades, but it can be difficult to locate in some of the highest Mint State grades, although not impossible. 

History of the 1919-D Standing Liberty Quarter

When searching for your ideal 1919-D Standing Liberty Quarter, look for one with nice details, especially in the head of Lady Liberty. It’s possible to find this coin with an attractive luster as well. The obverse of the coin features Lady Liberty holding a shield in one hand and an olive branch in the other while wearing chain mail armor on her body. She stands in some form of gateway that features 13 stars and the words “In God We Trust” dividing the walls. The reverse of the coin features an American Bald Eagle in flight with 13 stars surrounding it.

The 1919-D Standing Liberty Quarter value ranges from around $17,000 to upwards of $150,000 for a Full Head version in higher Mint State grades. In higher grades, this coin commands a high price due to the scarcity of finding it those grades. The 1919-D Standing Liberty Quarter would make a great addition to any collection, and is worth the effort to find one of these valuable coins in circulated or uncirculated grades.
