1907 Barber Dime
The 1907 Barber Dime had a total mintage of over 22 million coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The 1907 Barber Dime has the largest mintage out of any of the coins in the entire series. Due to its large mintage, it is plentiful and relatively easy to find one of these beautiful examples for any collection. While this is a common date, it is likely that many went into circulation, so it can be particularly difficult to locate in any grade above MS66.
History of the 1907 Barber Dime
The 1907 Barber Dime is worth cherrypicking because some of the coins feature a weaker strike, with some weaknesses on the digits of the date, and rounding of the lettering on the reverse. Charles Barber also designed the Barber Quarter and the Barber Half Dollar. The design on this coin features a right facing profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse wearing an olive branch crown with a ribbon, and a headband with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. The reverse of the coin features a wreath of corn, oak and maple leaves, and wheat, and frames the word One Dime.
1907 Barber Dime Value
The 1907 Barber Dime value reaches upwards of just under $6,000 for some of the highest grades of the coin documented. This is a relatively affordable coin within the series, and can be found at more accessible prices in circulated and lower Mint State grades. The 1907 Barber Dime is an attractive coin that would make an excellent addition to any Barber Dime series collection.
