1901 Barber Dime

1901 Barber Dime

The 1901 Barber Dime had a total mintage of over 18.8 million coins struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This was a plentiful coin that was relatively easy to find in both circulated and many uncirculated Mint State grades. The 1901 Barber Dime is one of the most affordable coins in the series. It typically has very strong strike qualities, excellent eye appeal, and luster that ranges from brilliant to soft and creamy. Unlike the other mint locations, the Philadelphia minted Barber Dime didn’t have a ‘P’ mint mark.

History of the 1901 Barber Dime

The 1901 Barber Dime is a common and affordable coin that is also beautiful. It would add value to any collection, and cherrypicking should be relatively easy to find one that is well-struck with attractive surfaces. Charles Barber also designed the Barber Quarter and the Barber Half Dollar. The design on this coin features a right facing profile of Lady Liberty on the obverse wearing an olive branch crown with a ribbon, and a headband with “LIBERTY” inscribed on it. The reverse of the coin features a wreath of corn, oak and maple leaves, and wheat, and frames the word One Dime.

1901 Barber Dime Value

The 1901 Barber Dime value reaches upwards of $3,400 for some of the highest grades of the coin available.
