This incredible ancient coin dates back to the great kingdoms of yesteryear! This Drachm is from the reign of Hermaios, king of Bactria, now Afghanistan, who ruled from 105-90 BC. He ruled from Alexandria of Caucasus, which is now the city of Kabul. He was of the Eucratid Dynasty, and was known as the Savior King.
The obverse features a draped bust of Hermaeus, and the reverse depict Zeus on a throne giving a blessing gesture. It is rare to find Greek coins this ancient that still have this much detail! Most ancient coins we come across are dated A.D., so this B.C. dated piece is a real standout! This historic relic would find good company in a museum - but at this price it can easily be added to your collection!
