The 2009-P Abraham Lincoln Silver Dollar is a commemorative silver dollar that holds a special place in American numismatics, as it was minted to honor the bicentennial birth anniversary of one of the nation's most revered figures, Abraham Lincoln. Designed by Justin Kunz and Don Everhart II, this coin pays tribute to the 16th President of the United States, who played a pivotal role in the nation's history. The 2009-P Abraham Lincoln Silver Dollar serves as a lasting tribute to one of America's most iconic leaders and is a testament to the enduring legacy of Abraham Lincoln's contributions to the nation.

With its significant historical context and limited mintage, this coin is a cherished collector's item that commemorates the life and impact of a beloved President. The silver content also makes this coin a desirable piece for any collection. This dollar has the same 90% silver content and weight at the ever-popular Morgan Dollar, but with a fraction of the mintage and price. Only 125,000 of these dollars were minted, and a Morgan Dollar with a mintage that low would cost thousands of dollars! This is a lot of silver to get for such a low price, so take advantage of this deal while you can!

The issuance of the 2009 Lincoln Commemorative coins was authorized under Public Law 109-285, and it holds historical significance as it coincided with the bicentennial celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birth. The U.S. Mint set a limit of 500,000 coins for both the $1 Proof and Uncirculated versions combined. These commemorative coins became available from the U.S. Mint on February 12, 2009, marking a significant moment in numismatic history. On the same day, the U.S. Mint also released the redesigned 2009 Lincoln cent. Demand for these coins was so high that by March 27th of the same year, the U.S. Mint had sold out of the uncirculated versions. Just two days later, the Proof versions were also completely sold out. This rapid sell-out occurred within approximately six weeks, with at least 60 percent of the sold coins believed to be the Proof versions, reflecting the strong interest and enthusiasm of collectors and enthusiasts.
