Before the 2006 Gold Buffalo that collectors know and love, there was the 2001 Silver Buffalo! This 2001-P Silver Buffalo was issued for just one year to test the public response for the planned Gold Buffalo. With 1 oz of 90% pure silver, it was met with huge demand. Only 272,689 proof finish coins were minted in this test run, making the 2001-P Silver Buffalo an excellent rarity for any silver collection. In fact, this is one of the lowest mintage silver coins ever released from the United States Mint.
Only 48 have been given a near-perfect PR69 grade by CAC (as of 11/11/24). Plus, only 8 have ever been graded finer by CAC! This exact coin in perfect grade 70 would cost you more than double! Due to their super low mintages, we don't get these in very often. This is one of the rarest silver coins ever released from the U.S. Mint, especially since it was only minted for one year. This is a must-have especially for fans of the Gold Buffalo coins. We only have 10 available so grab one before they're gone again!
